The short version

This site is a static publication. We don't collect personal data, run ad networks, or sell anything. Reading the site is anonymous; we don't know who you are.

What we don't do

What we do do

Server logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider logs incoming requests — IP address, user agent, requested page, timestamp. This is the standard log data web servers produce. We use it for routine site operations (debugging, security monitoring) and do not pair it with any other data source.

Email. If you email us at hello@whatsthebestcaloriecounter.app, we have your email address. We use it to reply to you, and otherwise leave it alone.

External links

Many pages link to external resources — app websites, the USDA database, the Dietary Assessment Initiative, NEDA, journal references. When you click an external link, you leave our site and are subject to the privacy policy of the destination. We don't control how those sites handle your data.

Children

This site's content is for adults (typically 18+). It is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Your rights

If you have specific privacy questions or want to confirm what (if anything) we have on file about you, email hello@whatsthebestcaloriecounter.app. For California residents (CCPA) or EU residents (GDPR), specific rights apply; we will respond to verifiable requests in accordance with applicable law.

Changes

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and (for substantive changes) note it on the changelog.
